The San Pedro de Alcántara beach belongs to the Malaga municipality of Marbella. It is located halfway between the spectacular town of Marbella and the beautiful town of Estepona.

The San Pedro de Alcántara beach is considered one of the quietest in the area. Dark sand and gravel, the beach has a unique eucalyptus trees, which juts out almost to the shore itself, and a number of palm trees that adorn its beautiful esplanade.

Among the palm trees, we can distinguish a curious visitor: a sculpture of a life-size elephant happily treading the beach. As expected, this elephant has become one of the most popular elements of the beach and the most photographed by its visitors.

The beach is located in the town of San Pedro de Alcántara so you can reach it on foot. The Mediterranean motorway perfectly connect Marbella with San Pedro de Alcántara, in approximately 10 minutes. If you choose the urban bus from Marbella, the L4 line takes you to San Pedro de Alcántara. Marbella beaches include some water sports centres, all have chiringuitos (beach bars), there are a handful of luxury beach clubs, many beach-front restaurants and beach-front hotels. Some of the beaches have been awarded Blue Flags.

The San Pedro and Marbella Seafront Promenade now nearly 12km. From the Bajadilla fishing port - Marbella town centre - El Ancon - Rio Verde - Puerto Banus - San Pedro. It is part of the Senda Litoral de Malaga (Malaga Coastal Path) a projected 163km path following the entire coast of Malaga province from Manilva to Nerja. Once completed, this long-distance path will be a major tourist attraction for the Costa del Sol, and for Andalucia.

From west to east, the upmarket Bora Bora with full restaurant and swimming pool facilities (Prince William and Harry came to the Bora Bora beach in 1997 to ride on the jet skis). Today San Pedro de Alcantara is a first-class tourist resort, home to a number of luxury housing complexes, golf courses and excellent beaches, while still retaining features of its colonial past.
